Inspired: Financial Times’ How to Spend It Editorial

It’s nice to stumble upon truly inspiring editorials. Even nicer when it gives you a little thumbs up on the colour choices you made for your AW ’12 Collection, despite the odd murmur questioning the sorbet shades for the chilly season.

Financial Times’ How To Spend It editorials are always worth looking out for. The latest is photographed by Andrew Yee and styled by Damien Foxe. The looks include designers Oscar de la Renta, Chloe, Roland Mouret, Jil Sander and Kenzo.

For Keungzai’s Autumn Winter 2012 Collection, we opted for soft mid-greys, contrasted with deep olive, offset with duck egg blue and muted dusky pinks. A fresh alternative from the typical dark sombre colours of the Winter season – I hope you agree!

Behind-the-scenes: AW12 and SS13 pop-up showroom

In case you missed it, a few images started popping up on Instagram from our first ever pop-up showroom which featured our Autumn Winter 2012 Collection and our entire forthcoming Spring Summer 2013 collection.

The collection went down a treat with a visit from invitation-only styling agency Niche of London commenting they are “gorgeous clothes for pregnant women and the everyday woman” and Silkfred.com’s CEO Emma Watkinson giving us a big thumbs up.

Jeans for Genes Cure boutique Fashion show

It’s been a bit of a whirlwind couple of weeks, pulling together our spring/summer 2013 collection ready for photoshoots and pop-up showroom at the end of the month, alongside preparing for a Cure’s Jeans for Genes fashion show showcasing the local indie boutique’s designer collections from Vivienne Westwood to Nicole Farhi to Paul Smith. With a special treat from Keungzai showcasing the Autumn winter 2012 collection with our own exclusive set.

I helped to compere the show, despite numerous public speaking activities in the past, it was my first time with a mic in my hand. Thankfully, it wasn’t quite as frightening as I thought it would be. I settled into it quickly and enjoyed listening to the beats kick in while models strutted down the catwalk in Dame Viv attire … then came my own exclusive showcase!

I opened the set with a little special introduction, which then followed by the sounds created by Odi Caspi, which are also heard in our AW12 video. My models walked with a slow assured pace down the runway allowing the audience to take in every detail… demonstrating the versatility of each piece with 2 pregnant models and 3 ‘regular’/non-pregnant models; one by one the girls took their strides and ended in a neat horizontal line at the finish. The track dimmed as the girls walked off to .. an applause! Hooray!
